Call this “notes on the news.”
From Finland comes word that two men “are being charged with ‘hate speech’ for respectively writing and publishing a 24-page 2004 booklet that explains basic Christian theology about sex and marriage, which reserves sex exclusively for within marriage, which can only consist of one man and one woman, for life. The Finnish prosecutor claims centuries-old Christian teachings about sex ‘incite hatred’ and violate legal preferences for government-privileged identity groups.”
Said one of them, “It is impossible for me to think that the classical Christian views and the doctrine of the majority of denominations would become illegal. The question here is about the core of Christian faith; how a person gets saved into unity with God and into everlasting life through the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus. Therefore, it is crucial to also talk about the nature of sin.”
It sure is.
When watching for persecution, keep close tabs on those nations in northern European — especially the Nordic ones.
Incredible it is: how, a bit to the south, in Switzerland, they’ve approved a device for assisted suicide that resembles a sarcophagus or coffin. “Known as the Sarco Suicide Pod,” says the news, “the 3D-printable machine resembles a portable coffin, which is controlled by the user from within. Once inside the pod, the user must answer a series of questions, before being allowed to push the button.”
We’ll not post the photo. It’s too macabre — indeed, a high-tech coffin.
Isn’t this getting beyond what even the most cynical expected?
In Canada they are banning conversion therapy — attempts to bring folks out of homosexuality. A true shame this ban is, for spirits indeed can cause aberrant sexual behavior, and spirits can be cast out, in many cases. Woe, Canada!
On a more optimistic note:
Might it be that covid will find final defeat — in addition to herd immunity, natural body antibodies, and vaccines — through a mutation that occurs — and perhaps has now occurred — naturally?
We raised this prospect a couple of weeks ago — that viruses often mutate into less harmful variants, which could bring an end to the reign of “terror” (we’re not into fear here) — and we may be seeing this occur in real-time with the so-called Omicron mutation, which is more contagious than even Delta but seems to be substantially less harmful.
Will it thusly overtake Delta, weakening the coronavirus into something akin to the annual flu, or even the common cold?
Pray God.
We spoke recently to a well-known seer who went through a bout with it and said the effects were very real, “very strange,” and “evil.” So prayer remains the main means of recourse, as always.
Scientists and most media are still skewing the news, as far as the pandemic’s origin, to a direct jump of the virus from animals to humans, as opposed to a laboratory leak — which of course would reflect horribly on self-same scientists (and science in general). The wagons remain circled.
Here’s Associated Press today:
“Most scientists believe it emerged in the wild and jumped from bats to humans, either directly or through another animal. Others theorize it escaped from a Chinese lab. Now, with the global COVID-19 death toll surpassing 5.2 million on the second anniversary of the earliest human cases, a growing chorus of scientists is trying to keep the focus on what they regard as the more plausible ‘zoonotic,’ or animal-to-human, theory, in the hope that what’s learned will help humankind fend off new viruses and variants. ‘The lab-leak scenario gets a lot of attention, you know, on places like Twitter,’ but ‘there’s no evidence that this virus was in a lab,'” said University of Utah scientist Stephen Goldstein.
Dr. Goldstein, there are at least two lengthy, detailed, documented books out there, written by very reputable investigative journalists, that beg to differ.
Admittedly, we’ve received some bad news of late. A woman who called twice pleading for prayer (from an ICU in Michigan) has died of covid. And a priest who is close to us had a severe bout with it. Another woman called from Ohio, again pleading for prayer. But she now seems to be coming out of it, and has left the hospital. There is a list of others.
How to view vaccines?
One well-known visionary offers a strong viewpoint we’ll likely be reporting upon. Hopefully, a natural, benign mutation will bring the overwrought debate to an end, along with the dastardly (and real) effects of the coronavirus.
We like to remain neutral over issues that still involve many unknowns — because arguing either way, depending on what the entire picture ends up being, can cost lives. Even one life is too many. Yes, we have received and reviewed endless e-mails, scientific studies, blog reports, news articles, and YouTube videos on this issue. At this point, no one is certain of anything. Be careful, either way, of the wilder claims. Truth always comes in the folds (and sands) of time. We will remain as objective as we can, which is easier said than done!
