From Forums of the Virgin Mary [initial translation]:
Hundreds of miracles in 4 decades.
As most Catholics surely know, the Virgin Mary appears in Medjugorje, Bosnia Herzegovina, giving messages as the Queen of Peace, since June 24, 1981.
Many still debate whether it actually appears or is a fraud.
But between 2010 and 2014 a Vatican commission functioned to study the apparitions, chaired by Cardinal Ruini, who submitted a report to Francisco, maintaining that the first 7 apparitions in 1981 were supernatural; it was the Virgin who appeared; while on the rest [which became voluminous], the commission did not offer an opinion.
This conclusion will not lead to the approval of the apparitions.
Because it will hardly be formally approved while there are still apparitions and messages, the Church never did in its history [approve an apparition that was ongoing].
But based on the report, Pope Francis [initially skeptical] appointed an apostolic administrator, Monsignor Henrik Hoser, who settled in Medjugorje to promote the pilgrimage site and its fruits. [He has been openly and even stridently supportive, with rumors he is designing a large church-basilica there. Medjugorje was recently named by the Vatican one of thirty shrines from which to offer prayers for an end to the pandemic.]
In recent decades Medjugorje has become the confessional of the world, and a hotbed of vocations according to Hoser. [scroll for more beyond ad]
And over 40 years more than 50 million pilgrims passed there.
But not everyone knows that thousands of miracles have happened there, especially cures.
Here we are going to talk about the most striking miracles that came to light in Medjugorje.
One of the most striking miracles happened to the former US Secretary of the Treasury in the presidencies of Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, William Simon, who was also president of the United States Olympic Committee.
In the book, A Time for Reflection, Simon — a former Wall Street wunderkind and billionaire — revealed that he experienced a miracle in Medjugorje.
In the book Simon narrates:
“After the first Mass in Medjugorje, I remember saying to my son Billy: ‘This is the closest I have ever felt to heaven on earth.’
“And then he took out the old inexpensive rosary beads that he had bought about ten years ago, and found that the chain was glistening in the sun.
“That was weird because the chain was just a cheap alloy, yet it suddenly appeared radiant, golden, and vibrant and stayed that way.”
Simon wasn’t quite sure what to do with it, and on his return he took the rosary to a jeweler for evaluation, which confirmed that the chain had inexplicably turned to solid gold.
“I cannot explain the transformation, either of the rosary or of my own life, except as a sign of Divine intervention,” said the former high-ranking official.
Until the year of his death in 2000, he served as a minister of the Eucharist and cared for the sick and needy, especially those closest to death.
Simon is one of the many leaders who have been touched by Medjugorje.
President Ronald Reagan read messages from Medjugorje and tried to speak to one of the seers [Marija Pavlovic, though the call was inhibited by what were then very poor phone connections].
And Alfred Kingon, who served as Undersecretary of Finance and also Ambassador to the European Community for the United States, was in Medjugorje in 1987.
And he was so shocked that he sent a two-and-a-half page letter to former President Ronald Reagan and a similar report to Mikhail Gorbachev of the Soviet Union.
“Something of great importance is happening there. The whole world is going to change,” Kingon said of Medjugorje.
Another miraculous story is the one that happened to Randall Sullivan, journalist and writer, who was first agnostic and then atheist and went to Medjugorje.
Randall Sullivan was a contributing editor for Rolling Stone magazine for more than twenty years.
He says it was an oppressively hot day in Medjugorje and he was kicked out of the house of the seer Mirjana for his offensive behavior and comments.
And then Sullivan walked into the foothills of Mount Kricevac or Mount of the Cross and the rain, thunder, and lightning began.
And there he lived a miracle that transformed his life.
He had an inexplicable vision on Mount Krizevac, in the middle of the storm, where at the top there is an eight-meter cross that sometimes disappears from view and in its place the silhouette of the Virgin appears.
The storm was rare, starting with the very intense luminosity of the lightning, from which he could even feel its heat and he said to himself: “Well if there is a God, I suppose this is the moment.”
And in the middle of the storm he heard voices singing in French.

He continued climbing the stops of the Via Crucis carried by the delicious song.
At a station on the Via Crucis, he spotted a group of nuns kneeling in the mud, surrounded, like Randall, by thunder and lightning.
And then, suddenly, he felt compelled to get down on his knees and pray for the first time in his life.
After praying for a while, he followed the nuns to the top while praying with them at each Stations of the Cross.
And at the top of the mountain he was comforted by a young woman who conveyed incomparable grace and gave peace, placed a cloth on Randall’s shoulders and a hat on his head, without speaking.
There is a story that says that the Virgin sometimes appears as a pilgrim.
Suddenly Randall burst out laughing because he had prayed for the first time.
And when he looked around at the nuns, like the young woman, they were gone and the sun was shining in the blue sky.
How could the nuns and the young woman have disappeared?
He ran down between the stones looking for them and nothing.
He asked the pilgrims if they had seen a group of nuns, but the answers were negative.
No one had seen the nuns, but he put aside the possibility of having hallucinated because he saw them, because he went up the mountain and prayed with them. But they were gone.
Another miraculous fact that has happened since 2000 in Medjugorje is the water that flows from the left leg near the knee, from a bronze statue of the Risen Jesus , located in a park behind the Santiago Apóstol parish.
The liquid that flows continuously is healing, and the pilgrims soak handkerchiefs in the statue and take them to their place of origin.
In 2012, water began to flow from the other leg, the right, and it does so intermittently.
And some of the faithful have seen that this water does not freeze and turns into a red liquid like the Blood of Christ, and then turn colorless.
The origin of the water that flows from Christ is unknown; it does not evaporate; it is a mysterious miracle.
The sculpture was made and donated to Medjugorje by the artist Andrija Ajdic, in 1998.
He is known as the risen Christ, but in reality, His arms are open and outstretched as if abandoning the Cross to receive human beings.
Another miraculous event was the one that happened to the American pilot Scott O ‘Grady of the UN Blue Helmets, at a time during the Balkan War, where Bosnians, Serbs, and Croats fought between 1991 and 1995.
The Marian apparitions of Medjugorje had begun in 1981, shortly after the death of Marshal Tito in 1980, who had made the federation of nations that was called Yugoslavia, but later it was divided, causing a confrontation between the ethnic groups.
The pilot ejected from the plane after it was shot down in Bosnia in June 1995, and fell into Muslim Serb territory.
Upon his return to the United States, Scott wrote the book Honored Return in which he describes the horrors of survival after the Bosnian Serbs fired on his F-16.
Describing his sufferings and the hunger, thirst, cold, and fear, he lived for many days in hiding waiting for help in the Bosnian forests.
And he reveals that the Queen of Peace appeared to him and comforted him.
It says in the book
“On the third day of being in hiding, thinking how survival is the first of all spiritual tests, I experienced something wonderful and unrepeatable.
“Suddenly, in the quiet of my hiding place, I remembered the stories of a friend of my mother who had visited Medjugorje before the war broke out in Bosnia.”
And then he says,
“That afternoon, I turned to Our Lady in prayer. I immediately felt her presence.
“It became more and more clear and palpable until the moment I saw it. It is difficult to describe in words.
“I had an extremely warm feeling, full of happiness and peace.”
He could realize that there was someone who prayed and awaited his return home.
“That vision was the most important thing that happened to me in Bosnia. It gave me the courage to endure in the most difficult moments,” said O’Grady.
O’Grady had survived for six full days eating leaves, grasses, and ants.
The plane was rescued after a successful operation involving more than 40 planes and helicopters with 100 soldiers and some of the best military strategists in NATO.
And finally, through his book, the American pilot made public his statement after the rescue operation, saying, “Our Lady of Medjugorje saved me.”
Well, so far what we wanted to tell you about the most outstanding miracles, and that come out of the ordinary in Medjugorje, because the rest of the miracles are of physical and spiritual healings as they happen in other sanctuaries such as Lourdes.
And that there are hundreds in these 4 decades.
And I would like to ask you if you know of any person who has made a pilgrimage to Medjugorje and a miracle has happened to him?
