We received some mail about a woman from Minnesota who identifies (and has for two decades now) only as “Jennifer.”

A mother and now grandmother, what caught our attention and caused a closer look was the seemingly miraculous way she met officials at the Vatican (who reportedly told her to get her messages out) and the way she receives alleged “words of knowledge”: through the actual, physical ear. You can see a recent update and background here.

At any rate, here’s one item from the mail from reader Miriam Austin, recalling an incident involving Jennifer, and then another recent alleged “message.”

“On Tuesday, January 4, 2005, Father Seraphim Michelanko celebrated the employees’ Mass at the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy, in the Marian Helper Center chapel [in Stockbridge, Massachusetts].

“Father Seraphim began the sermon by saying (and, I paraphrase some, but I remember this very clearly) that in November (2004), a young lady called him and told him, ‘Jesus said that you will introduce me to the Pope.’

“‘I laughed and told her, “I do not know the Pope.” After some discussion, I told her that I would be in Rome on December 8th and if she wanted to meet me there, I would be happy to meet with her. I met her with her parents. We went to the Spanish Steps for the Immaculate Conception service the Pope holds there every December 8th, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

“’As the service concluded and Pope John Paul left, the crowds started to disperse and suddenly we find ourselves right in front of Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz [the Pope’s personal secretary], whom I do know. I introduced Jennifer to Cardinal Dziwisz. Immediately she said, “Jesus told me to tell the Pope that very, very soon there will be great waves of destruction.”

“‘The next day, I went to our parish (Marians of the Immaculate Conception) in Rwanda, as we were about to receive a very special Divine Mercy statue. Three weeks later, on December 26th, I was shocked when I learned about the [Asian] tsunami [right after that Christmas].’

“Father Seraphim then told us a little more about Jesus’ messages to Jennifer and said to read her website — wordsfromjesus.com — and that we should take these messages very seriously.

“My employment at The National Shrine of the Divine Mercy ended in December 2005. I do not know if Father Seraphim had further contact with Jennifer….I would not be surprised if he did, as he stayed in touch with so many people. May The Divine Mercy, continuously bless you and your work!”

[NOTE: Jennifer denies aspects of this. According to her current spiritual director, “Jennifer told me: ‘I have never met Cardinal Dziswzi or have ever attended a mass at the Vatican. I never called Father Seraphim nor did I tell him he would introduce me to the pope. The 3 messages I gave John Paul were private and did not pertain to the Asian Tsunami. My mother has been deceased since December of 2000. Neither my dad nor myself met with Fr. Seraphim outside the country. I have also never been to the Spanish steps of the Immaculate Conception in Rome. I landed in Rome on December 9th in the late afternoon.'”

“My child,
“My children are unprepared for a greater unraveling that is about to come. Many speak of war yet it is the war that has taken over the hearts of men who have no conscience of the sanctity of life. It is time to arise from your slumber, my children, and understand that the devil and his many companions seek your soul. Too many are complacent in silence to the evil that is going on all around them. Too many are not protecting the most innocent and place my little ones in the hands of the very enemy that seeks to destroy their soul.

“What side of the river will you be on when the earthquake comes and the river rises and washes away its banks? Who will you call out to when darkness comes upon the earth and land that has been planted will yield no harvest because it is barren? Where will you run to when fire falls from the sky? My Children, you must begin to pray for greater discernment, for too many have taken up company with the devil and do not realize the darkness that is lingering around them.

“Mankind is provoking the just hand of My Father. I ask My children to read my words of warning and realize what I have warned for quite some time is now upon your doorstep. Sin divides, but prayer and love multiples a bountiful harvest. It is time to use your voice and no longer reason in fear, for fear does not come from Me, for I am Jesus. Time is short, for the world is on the precipice of great change. This world as you know it is passing away, and those who have not learned from history are soon to be standing in the midst of it.

“Take heed to the Gospel Message and live it; teach your brothers and sisters in humility how to pray; come to the fountain of My Mercy and do not have prideful hearts. I come to you in love and warning that prayer is the only vessel that will deter war. Prayer is the only vessel in which peace will come upon the world, for I am the Prince of Peace, for I am Jesus and My Mercy and Justice will prevail.”
