The preoccupation with gays and “trans” is at best baffling and at worst extraordinarily damaging, especially to our already cyber-swamped and confused young.
The most bizarre aspect is why society — whether the VVatican or a president of the United States — is so focused on homosexuals and now “transgenders,” when, besides the moral issue, they are such a tiny portion of the populace.
The percentage of Americans who identify as homosexual can vary depending on the source and methodology of the survey. We feel sorry and pray for them. It is not an enviable burden or temptation. However, recent surveys and studies typically find that about four to five percent of the U.S. population identifies as homosexual. The Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law, which conducts research on sexual orientation and gender identity law and public policy, has published estimates based on various surveys and analyses.
As of the last update, their estimates suggested that approximately 0.6% of adults in the United States, or about 1.4 million adults, identify as transgender.
How such small numbers could preoccupy and sway and rock the entire culture indicates a mystery, perhaps diabolic in nature.
In the U.S., besides its horrible preoccupation with abortion “rights,” one political party has all but thrown away all credibility due to its focus on transgenders, and now the Vatican is likewise taking water.
Prayer need, indeed.
