America is in great danger, as much as at any point since Pearl Harbor, if not before. Rare is the alignment.
For the country, which remains the most powerful known to history, is threatened with disruptions and outright hostilities on multiple fronts.
There is the domestic front and the real, no longer fantastical or paranoic prospect of civil war.
That possibility is higher than at any point since 1861 and the firing upon Fort Sumter, which began the Civil War.
Will there be a Civil War Two?
Foreign-wise, it is threatened with world war more than at any time, says a former U.S. defense secretary, since World War Two.
The essence of countless prophecies seems to be unfolding before our eyes.
As far as civil unrest, a new poll has shown, in the words of the Miami Herald, that “a large portion of Americans on both sides of the aisle favor getting rid of democracy and imposing violence on their political opponents, among other authoritarian measures. Thirty-one percent of Donald Trump supporters and 24% of President Joe Biden supporters said democracy is ‘no longer viable’ and an alternative system should be tried, according to an October poll from the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics.”
Let that sink in. It says it all.
There is chaos in Congress. Not in recent times has there been such a distance between political parties, nor such division within one of the parties.
And even more to the point: “41% of Trump supporters and 30% of Biden supporters said they favor either conservative or liberal states seceding from the union.”
The rancor in politics has grown to such an extent that some form of civil disruption is all but assured.
Overseas?
No one needs to be told about Ukraine nor, now, about Israel. The U.S. now has military assets on the scene and in one recent case engaged in the conflict (thwarting drones and cruise missiles from Yemen).
Are they even — Ukraine and Israel — separate wars? Or will we one day see them as part and parcel of World War Three? Are the same forces behind both hot conflicts? Are North Korea and Iran not providing weaponry and logistic support to Hamas and Hezbollah and are not they aligned with and backed by Russia?
And so great danger looms not only for the United States but the entire planet.
Many forget that Israel has nuclear weapons, and that they one day will be very tempted to use them, surrounded as they are — this nation of just over nine million — by Islamic nations whose populations add up to 254 million — nearly thirty times as many.
If there is a nuclear exchange, it would draw in not just the U.S. but also China and Russia.
China has sent naval assets to the region.
Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin and the Chinese leader, Xi, have grown to be close friends, and both are bent on breaking U.S. dominance — with China shoving aside its focus on economic growth to concentrate on military growth (and doubling its own nuclear weaponry).
This is beyond dangerous — and at long last makes sense of prophecies that many years ago predicted Russia, Muslims, and China all attacking North America.
A weak America — and morally it’s never been weaker; financially it’s rarely been more vulnerable. Could it be further weakened in the future by natural disaster?
Only if Israel (by the grace of prayer) handles the situation as U.S. special forces handled al Qaeda (with special forces, instead of annihilation of Afghanistan) does the current crisis have the prospect of resolution.
A wild card is India, which has largely remained neutral, friendly with both the U.S. and Russia but flexing authoritarian-like muscle at home (last week shutting off internet and cell access to a large region).
The president of the U.S. is on the phone with the Pope. In those hinterlands of Medjugorje, the Virgin makes this statement (October 20,2023):
“Dear children! Today I invite you to pray for peace. At this time, peace is threatened in a special way, and I ask you to renew fasting and prayer in your families and to encourage others to pray for peace. Dear children, I want you to understand the seriousness of the situation and that much of what will happen depends on your prayer and perseverance. Dear children, I am with you and I invite you to seriously start praying and fasting. Thank you for responding to my call!”
