No need to respond to this — I know you must be super-busy.  I just want to share this with someone, and I don’t know anyone else I can share it with.

I have had a history of precognitions.  I’ve had priests who were my spiritual directors in the past who helped me to discern them, but most have passed away now, sadly for me.

I have been having some dreams recently I want to share.  My history with dreams is that some part or parts end up being true, but other parts are distorted — I believe by my subconscious trying to make sense of what I’m seeing, but I really don’t know why this is.

As background, I’ve recently felt called to a renewed devotion to Our Lady and the rosary. In the past, for me, praying the rosary has led to what I call “repetitions.”  Some people call these synchronicities. Also, I have lucid dreams that either include things that do happen in the very near future or that are actually happening at the same time I’m dreaming them.  I’ve noticed other unusual things that also seem to follow when I pray the rosary more, including glimpses of important future events.

Anyway, I recently dreamed about being trapped in my childhood home with my family. In the dream, some people were angry with my family and me because we didn’t have the same political beliefs.  There were angry mobs in the streets, and they were rioting.  They trapped us in our house and set the house on fire.  We were trying to get out, but we couldn’t.

The next day, there was a local news story that a family had been trapped in their home that caught fire, and all four of them burned to death.  I thought it was just a horrible coincidence that I had dreamed something similar, but a later news story announced that authorities believed the fire was set by someone, like my dream.

Then last night, I dreamed that the Earth’s axis shifted.  There was terrible commotion surrounding this, and people were trying to seek shelter in their basements.  In the dream, the news announced that because of the shift, some places would receive a lot more sunlight than they had before, and then there would be a period of several days of darkness. They said this would affect crops and growing seasons, and not for the better.

After waking this morning, in a phone call from my daughter, she mentions that our granddaughter in grade school had been asked by a teacher to write about “What would happen if the sun didn’t set and stayed bright in the sky all night?” to which my granddaughter wrote that it would be awful if that happened because it would affect the crops in a bad way and many people would probably die.  My granddaughter is very young and has learning disabilities, so this was highly unusual and very dark writing for her.  She is almost always a very upbeat, happy child.

Please know that these could just be dreams . . . people dream all kinds of crazy things, and I’m no exception. But this dream seemed so real.  Also please note that when I do have dreams that mirror future or current realities, there are always things in them that don’t fall in line; things that are downright wrong.  I always believed this was so that I would remain humble with this “gift.”
