As reported months ago, and before that in a “special report,” Emmanuel Makandiwa, known simply as “Prophet Makandiwa,” is founder of a large Pentecostal mega-church called United Family International Church in Zimbabwe. 
Way back, on November 20, 2016, Makandiwa told tens of thousands at the City Sports Centre in Harare: “I saw diseases that are coming, many diseases — know that we are praying about it — and another disease more deadly, and I saw it coming from the sea. If they investigate, they will find that it comes from the ocean, more deadly than HIV and cancer. Very fast, very aggressive.” Many took that as a prediction of the coronavirus and its association with a Chinese seafood market, since the “prophet” — an evangelical preacher — specifically mentioned that country.
“If they investigate, they will find that it comes from the ocean, more deadly than HIV and cancer,” he said.
“Very fast, very aggressive.
“And thousands and millions, perhaps billions, will die.
“This is something we can pray against, because it isn’t good news.
“Imagine sitting and watching TV and seeing millions and millions die — thousands in one city in one day. It’s a plague. It’s serious. It’s something that you will see like it flies in the air.”
“We need people to pray, because we can prevent it, we can slow it down. But we can’t cure it.” Makandiwa was stating all this, he said, because the Holy Spirit told him to, and so “we can pray against it.”
It was two months and eighteen days later that Makandiwa returned to repeat his warning, adding gripping, and in retrospect perhaps amazing, details.
But he had said that it could be prayed against, and now, in a new interview, believes exactly that occurred: that enough people prayed to weaken the virus that causes covid-19 and prevented the deaths of those “millions.” It will now be subject, he claims, to a medication that already exists but has not yet been brought t the fore.
That’s the allegedly good news.
There is also his sobering side.
For the seer asserts he was allowed a glimpse of the future and that in that glimpse he came to understand that covid is just a warning — that, if men continue in their pride, there is also “something else to come.”
He told his interviewer in Africa that in his original predictions he had mentioned not just one “plague,” but a number. He believes that had it not been for the intercessory prayer of countless Christians, covid would have proven worse — and still could — than any epidemic in the past.
We do proiphecy here — in acc9rdance with the admonitions of Scripture (“do not despise prophecy”… “keep what is good and leave the rest”),
“If you’re ready for the lion, you go out and face it,” he said. “If not, you go inside and lock the doors. If you are in hiding, it means you were never ready for this. No one was ready, till now.
He said he held back some of this from his origjnal priophetic utterances because the audience “did not qualify for it” — was not prepared.
“But the truth must always be told. People must qualify for the truth. What we are seeing today is nothing compared to what I saw.” Isaiah to King Kezzikiah. Days are numbered. Have to put house in order. Fifteen years were added for the king after a plea to God. altered as a result of prayer.
“God said we have to demand more prayer from the peop[le, more of a contribution. I don’t want to add fear to the fear that is already there. But I want you to understand something here. If you look at the level of panic, it is nothing like we faced with any other disease in the past. It is dire. So we should never compare this disease with any other disease. Some may say, we have had diseases before that have killed millions, and this one is still in the thousands, and they think we have had more deadly diseases than this one, and yet this is just the media playing games with your minds. Millions have died because of this disease. The coronavirus, the disease that has taken over the entire globe, this is not a natural thing. When you are given permission by God to look into upcoming events, coronavirus is a small one, it is a warning. This disease is a warning. I said diseases are coming now. I didn’t say ‘a disease,’ I said “diseases.’
Citing Proverbs. “If you faint in the day of adversity, then your strength is small. Nations are strong, but their strength is small. The only thing that can prove the magnitude of your strength is adversity. You need adversity to come once in a while, just so your strength can be tested.
“We are strong but our strength is small, very small, very small. Now this coronavirus is a warning so that we can prepare ourselves better for what is coming. But of we faint, then our strength is small. Our health systems are very small. Our educated people are very small.
“It has always been China that it came from, but from where to China? Where is this thing coming from? The people in China also want to know where this thing came from. Somwhen they tell me today that it was made in the lab, the prophetic has to go far beyond the lab. Where did they get the thing from, into the lab?
People cannot challenge me and say, ‘We did not reach the billions.’ or even millions. So don’t compare it with others. When they occurred, we were not around [to pray]. So don’t think this one is weak. This is deadly. Without prayer, this thing is worse than any in the past. But it is our time. We can do something about it. We are much more equipped spiritually. This disease was more energetic than any other.”
Instead of measuring casualties, should acknowledge the spiritual effect against it.

“What God is doing is reducin g the incurability of the coronavirus and bringing it down to a level where it can be cured. We are downsizing the disease by prayer, reducing it to a level where we can treat it. We cann never find a cure for the coronaviurs. So the prophecy is saying that God is taking power from the virus so that it is changed. It is not the same coroinavirus. It is changing in form, in structure, in strength. As weak as it is now, it has been fast-tracked by prayer. God has reduced this giant into something very small that can be treated.”
not a cure, but a treatment. God has reduced it to level of medication that is avaiulable. “That is the miracle.
“But if you are a prophet, you know that something bigger is coming. If I can share this, if they go and say in public, ‘we have found a cure, ‘ the temptation would be to say, ‘we have found a cure. ‘ If we say it was already in existence, how do we become champions? Now pride comes in. It is an issue of pride to say, we are the savior of the nations. God wants to destroy that ego, that pride. God is doing a lot of things by reducing this thing. It was God Who delivered us. He has allowed us to pray and minimize the strength of this disease to the extent that there is a medication.
China using a medication to stop it and not telling the world. Let us not be fooled: something is being given to the people.
“But something bigger is coming. But again, we are in charge. So let’s be strong. we have to be strong. tne devil cannot shut this world down. Jesus is on the Throne. God is God. God is on the Throne. Do not be afraid of anything.”
