I am fourth generation raised in Sonoma County, California, where fire rages.
I was raised on Bohemian Highway, as in Bohemian Grove.
Historically, much of Sonoma County was dedicated to God in the early years of settlement by Spain through Mexico, and Russia. The first Spanish land grant to a woman was in the area of Santa Rosa, the county seat. Prior to that, the furthest northern Catholic Mission was established in the current town of Sonoma, to the east of Santa Rosa. The Russians had their southernmost outpost at Fort Ross, on the coast of the north west corner of Sonoma County. So the Roman Catholic Spaniards had dedicated land to the Triune God. And, the Russian Orthodox priests from Russia had dedicated land to God.
Satan laughs at the slackness of the Christians to hold the land over the years.
The “hippies” came in strong in the 1960’s. One of the first well known communes was Morning Star Ranch just down the road from the current Bohemian Grove. The casting off of Christian morality, drugs, and all that followed has left a wake of tragedy, sorrow, and immorality. The burning effigy started at the Bohemian Grove has spawned the Burning Man yearly pagan event held just outside far northern California in the Nevada Desert.
Dear, beautiful Sonoma County, could have held a beacon of light in the darkness, but darkness is trying to overshadow the whole area. Lord, have mercy.

(I am writing as an individual, but a personal note, I am the current President of the National Association of Catholic Nurses, U.S.A. I met you, Michael Brown, at one of your retreats held in Sacramento, California).
Please be compassionate when trying to explain California Fires. The people who were roasted from the inside out and died, and the people who were roasted but survived and could not speak I do not believe were New Agers or Witches. It is horrific and there are many more horrific stories including the animal stories. 1,000 people in the Bay Area have died from the smoke.
The extreme drought from 2012 to 2016 set deeply the stage for the current massive continual fires since 1917. Study done on the tree rings showed it was the largest drought in 1200 years. Sorry I do not have the reference but it was reported on KCBS radio here. With the drying weather, heat, & low humidity it often now feels like our house will explode in fire. It is different now. As the climate warms the atmosphere is also taking more moisture from the trees.
When I moved here in 1971 there were more cold summer days and nights than warm ones. Now we may get six to twelve cool days. That is a big change. I even got an air conditioner which I never thought I would need. I also wonder how the people in the midwest can stand the continual flooding and others the hurricanes.
It seems humanity has not been a steward of the earth or each other. As Jesus said in one of the “mailbag” stories, “We have ruined everything.” But I do hope He can save some area for the peace loving people. I hope I can discern the “right path” also.
Take care, Respectfully submitted,
