I plan to send this letter to Mrs. Trump. What do you think?
Dear Mrs. Trump,
I am so disheartened. I just read the enclosed article about your upcoming memoir and about the pro-choice position you take.
Your adherence simply to the “My body. My choice” and what seems like parroting of the Planned Parenthood talking points is so disappointing. While you are entitled to your opinion, I am so saddened that you are not using your position to help women so that they can make good, well-informed choices. The current PP and cultural mindset tells men & women to ‘enjoy your bodies; take a pill to prevent pregnancy & when that fails, take a pill to kill your child and if that fails, go to an abortionist to cut your baby up & suck or pull your baby out.’ Yes, it is barbaric.
Instead, you could use your role to encourage women to learn about their bodies, their fertility, fetal development and the actual process of abortion. You could encourage sex education in schools to teach the truth about fetal development. With the new MAHA efforts of your husband’s (hopefully new) administration, you could encourage women to learn the danger of the chemical contraceptives they put in their bodies; about the depression it causes; about the damage it does to all humans as the hormones seep into the waterways & drinking water of our population and our children.
You could help women understand that “the fetus” within them is alive and growing. It did not appear by magic, but is the result of her actions. And it is not a part of her body. Men and women must understand that each sexual encounter brings risk and responsibility. [Of course, this is not true of rape or incest. But you could help women who are raped to learn that quick action; going to a hospital and getting a spermicide or morning after pill could prevent a pregnancy.]
In all cases the baby is innocent.
You could help women know of the infertility problem in the US and of the many couples hoping to adopt; to love and care for a baby, like the one they carry in their womb.
You could do more to counteract the lies presented by the abortion industry. The lies that, even now, we are seeing in political ads against pro-life Republicans.
The choice would be the woman’s, but at least it would be informed.
You were a most elegant first lady. Your husband has been called the most pro-life President in recent history, because he kept his promises to his supporters. I am so sad that you have reinforced the “my body, my choice” lie and failed to help the truth be known.
I have heard you say the Our Father at a rally, so I assume you are a woman of faith. And I have the impression you are Christian. I will leave you by paraphrasing an Instagram post from ‘Encountering Jesus Daily’:
Isn’t it interesting that the pro-abortion groups use the words, “This is my body”. The same words said by Jesus at the last supper. Jesus said, “This is my body, which will be given up for you.” I must die so that you may live. The abortion industry says, ‘This is my body’. You must die so that I can live.
I pray that one day elective abortion will be unthinkable.
Sincerely,
Sue
