“I’m sending you this email because the Pope’s wording in the interview, and the wording in the document, actually indicate there’s not been further clarity on homosexual blessings,” writes Emily. “I am very sad to say the Pope appears to be confused over the wording in the document. Here are the two quotes which show a contradiction, and the underlining and other emphases are mine to show where this gets confusing. From the interview: ‘But to bless each person, yes. The blessing is for everyone. For everyone. To bless a homosexual-type union, however, goes against the given right, against the law of the Church. But to bless each person, why not?’++
“And from the document, within the first few paragraphs at the very beginning:++
“’It is precisely in this context that one can understand the possibility of blessing couples in irregular situations and same-sex couples without officially validating their status or changing in any way the Church’s perennial teaching on marriage.’++
“Clearly stated in the document is the possibility of blessing couples, while clearly stated from the interview is blessing of each individual person.+
“What gets to be confusing is how the Pope says we are blessing couples outside of the liturgy, and yet he says we cannot bless unions. Being a couple and unionhood are the same thing for Christians. Either you are one or you aren’t. There isn’t a semi-union, nor is there a lifetime engagement. And you can’t cohabitate while being engaged. In other words, there is no gray area.++
“After all, there is no union here, and one is not possible, right? Just something for anyone to consider. An open question.”++
Meanwhile, a viewer from Ireland named Michael who had an aunt involved in the occult, argues that “sometimes tongues can be demonic rather than charismatic. My witch grandaunt brought me to a charismatic novena when I was twenty-four, after which I received ‘tongues.’ In Irish I had been repeating: ‘ní mo Hannah mo sín scí mo Hannah.’ I realize today it was Irish but not the translation. I just Googled the translation and the tongues were demonic. (One word was Hebrew: ‘hannah’ is the Hebrew name for ‘favor.’ What I had been repeating without realizing it is: ‘My favor, is not my favor.’ Basically, cursing myself that my good fortunes did not belong to me.”++
We certainly know most instances of “tongues” are powerful and holy, as at Pentecost. They are often particularly potent against the enemy.++
Again, we’ll leave it up to you to decide.
