It may seem like a tailspin, but God is in control, always.
When you are desperate, He is there yet closer.
When there is darkness, His Light is brighter. ‘Then your light will break out like the dawn, And your recovery will speedily spring forth’ (Isaiah 58:8)
He has the road map of your life.
When you don’t know chemistry, He does.
The famous brain surgeon, Dr. Ben Carson, a presidential contender, recounted the time at Yale when he was failing chemistry and begged the Lord for help, then fell asleep. He had planned to pull an “all-nighter.” He was desperate.
As he told a national prayer breakfast, “You can’t be a pre-med and fail in chemistry.” He prayed, saying, “Lord, medicine is the only thing I ever wanted to do… Would you please tell me what is it you really want me to do?” In his sleep came a dream and in the dream he was alone in an auditorium and a “nebulous figure” was writing chemistry problems on a blackboard.
“When I went to take the test the next morning, it was like The Twilight Zone,” Dr. Carson recounted. “I opened that book and I recognized the first problem as one of the ones I dreamed about! And the next, and the next, and the next, and I aced the exam and got a good mark in chemistry.”
Others can’t explain their recoveries from serious illness.
Neither can science.
Notes a recent testimony in the U.S., “People in our assembly laid hands on me and prayed for me and my right leg grew out; however, it was still about half-an-inch shorter than my other leg. Some time later, I decided to pray and lay hands on my shorter leg by myself… In ‘Jesus Name,’ I commanded my right leg to grow and the hips, knees and ankles to be leveled out with the left leg. After the prayer I could feel movement in my right leg, which felt like someone stretching it! I checked the length of both legs and immediately realized that the right leg was exactly like the left leg. There were no more differences in the length of my legs, and my hips and joints and everything were completely level. When I got up, I found myself standing evenly and could feel that my bodyweight was evenly distributed on both legs. The pain in my knees, hips, and back completely disappeared after the healing!”
Is a miracle in store for you or someone you love?
The supernatural rules over the natural.
Recalled a woman whose son nearly died in an accident, “I would stand by his bed and sing and tears would just roll down my cheeks. The only thing that I would allow to be prayed over him was the Word of God, which is the ultimate authority.” She would say, “I declare, Father, in the Name of Jesus, that You said by Your stripes, Jeremy is healed. Jeremy, I say you are healed and you will fully recover!” (The boy made a remarkable recovery.)
A fellow on chemotherapy insists he “woke up in the middle of the night one night, and just as clearly as I’m speaking to you right now, I heard God tell me, ‘It’s over. It’s finished. It’s done. Stop taking the treatments.’ The peace of God was on me, and I said, ‘God, You told me to do it, so that’s exactly what I’m going to do.’” He was healed.
It may take time — just as it so often takes an affliction time to develop; just as a problem may grow gradually — but God operates in accordance with a Plan.
“The Lord will not grant you the grace of physical sight unless you first receive sight for your soul,” Saint Pio once said to a blind man. “After you are baptized, then the Lord will give you your sight.” (Gradually — after converting to Christianity — his sight returned.)
Start your prayer by praising God. Prayer will bring you to a healthier diet. The more you pray, the more you’ll know how to pray for what you need; the more you’ll receive clarity. Get strong — tough — in your supplications.
Shout it out, if necessary.
Take the initiative. Move into your destiny.
Light overcomes darkness — when we let it. Look up, not down.
