Endlessly mystifying—and alternately fascinating and frightening—was Fatima seer Lucia dos Santos’ revelation that, in 1944, she was “told” what the image in the third secret (an angel ready to torch the world with his sword or spear) meant.
We had assumed it had to do with nuclear war. And in part (as one can know from the very last line, which you’ll see in a moment), it may well.
But looking at the “enlightenment” and the entire commanding verbiage, one more than anything looks at potential geophysical events.
And in this regard, the focus is on the earth’s axis, for as the revelation said, “The tip of the spear as a flame unlatches and touches the axis of the earth. It shudders. Mountains, cities, towns, and villages with their inhabitants are buried. The sea, the rivers, and the clouds emerge from their limits, overflowing and bringing with them in a whirlwind houses and people in numbers that are not possible to count. It is the purification of the world as it plunges into sin. Hatred and ambition cause the destructive war!”
In all the storms (“Helene,” “Milton”), wars (Ukraine, Israel), and societal upheavals, are we seeing signs of things ever larger coming?
A while ago, NASA posted a summary of what the earth’s “axis” is doing of late, explaining, “Earth is not a perfect sphere. When it rotates on its spin axis—an imaginary line that passes through the North and South Poles—it drifts and wobbles. These spin-axis movements are scientifically referred to as ‘polar motion.’ Measurements for the twentieth century show that the spin axis drifted about four inches per year. Over the course of a century, that becomes more than thirty-three feet.”
What causes that “drift”?
According to the space scientists, loss of mass in Greenland (due to melting glaciers), glacial rebound (when they return in colder months), and “mantle convection,” which refers to the very slow, churning movement of earth’s mantle caused by the transfer of heat from the interior of the planet to its surface.
Is the angel’s spear (as indicated by the word “flame”) heat? Are climate changes, which occur on a regular basis through geologic time, causing unpredictable effects?
Says NASA: “As temperatures increased throughout the twentieth century, Greenland’s ice mass decreased. In fact, a total of about 7,500 gigatons—the weight of more than 20 million Empire State Buildings—of Greenland’s ice melted into the ocean during this time period. This makes Greenland one of the top contributors of mass being transferred to the oceans, causing sea level to rise and, consequently, a drift in earth’s spin axis.”
In general, the redistribution of mass on and within earth, like changes to land, ice sheets, oceans, and mantle flow, affects the planet’s rotation—perhaps one could say “unlatches” it. This is not a matter of politics. It’s irrefragable.
“The length of earth’s days and the orientation of our planet are being thrown out of balance,” said LiveScience recently, as climate shifts “continuously alter earth’s spin (new research suggests).”It added, “Over the past few decades, the rate of ice loss from earth’s polar regions, particularly Greenland and Antarctica, has been increasing rapidly due to global warming, leading to rising sea levels. Most of this extra water accumulates near the equator, causing our planet to bulge slightly around the middle. This, in turn, slows the planet’s spin because more weight is distributed farther away from the planet’s center—similar to how spinning figure skaters slow down by moving their arms away from their bodies.”But is it merely the deliquescence of ice, or an intangible, yet to be known force? (The latter notion we opt for and attribute at least in part to the supernatural.)”Initially, these changes will be imperceptible to us, but they could have serious knock-on effects, including forcing us to introduce negative leap seconds, interfering with space travel and altering our planet’s inner core, researchers warn.”
And so we wait and watch–and pray. For with prayer and fasting, said Mary at Church-authorized Medjugorje, we “can even suspend the laws of nature.”[resources: Future Events] and October retreat online]
