Are there “signs of the times”?
There certainly are. And it causes us to reflect on those “secrets” from Medjugorje.
In a recent interview, Vicka Ivankovic, a key visionary at Medjugorje in Hercegovina, revealed that when the events spelled out in those prophetic messages begin to unfold, just one of the seers will still be seeing the Virgin Mary. She says she doesn’t know which that will be.
Originally, six saw Mary daily, according to a Vatican commission. That has been winnowed down to three (though the others have periodic visitations at special times of the year, such as Christmas, anniversary dates, or birthdays).
A discussion of the reputed secrets comprises a fascinating new book, Ten Secrets, by longtime Mariologist, Dr. Thomas Petrisko. (It’s available here.)
One does not have to be a seer, however, to know something is up; for the landscape is shifting around us.
One example: A massive system of rotating ocean currents in the North Atlantic is behaving extremely strangely, possibly because it is approaching a tipping point, a new analysis of clam shells shows.
Reports LiveScience: “The North Atlantic subpolar gyre plays a key role in transporting heat to the Northern Hemisphere, and it is a part of a much larger network of ocean currents called the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC). But new evidence suggests the subpolar gyre has been losing stability since the 1950s, meaning the gyre’s circulation could weaken substantially in the coming decades, researchers report in a study published today (Oct. 3) in the journal Science Advances.

Now we also see (from the London Mail) this:
“Birds throughout the US have adopted a disturbing habit that could have devastating implications for human society if it continues. Researchers have found that birds are abandoning their usual migration patterns, with warmer temperatures in their winter habitats disrupting their annual flights
“While delaying their yearly flight south may not sound like a major problem, a visiting scientist at Cornell University, Andrew Farnsworth, warned that it could lead to many bird species dying out and drastically altering nature.”
It’s time to unite in prayer and discern what God and His Creation are telling us.
The sun?
Our friend Pete Chawk of Wichita sent the photo below, taken during a recent pilgrimage to the Mother Cabrini Shrine near Denver.
“One of our pilgrims took this picture as she left the chapel,” write Petre. “We just had a private hour of Adoration followed by Mass for our group. Brother Jude brought out a First Class Relic of Saint Cabrini and prayed over each one of us and touched it to our foreheads. As we left, it was near four p.m. on the vigil of the feast day of Saint Faustina. Mary Zogleman, who took the picture, thought the image looked like an angel. Everyone else sees two suns, and the rays look like the image of Divine Mercy. Blood and water. She prays a prayer daily which is posted below. ‘But one ray of that Holy Light.’ It does seem like one ray. Another person mentioned that it is curved. Most rays are usually straight.”
Let us thus pray:
