We’re thinking of manifestations, especially those that have to do with light—and specifically His Light.
+
In countless mystical experiences, miracles, dreams, unusual photographs, and accounts of apparitions, a striking effulgence is often mentioned.
+
There are those who, after hospital revival, mention an “indescribable” brilliance, yet one they could look at directly.
+
An incredible, encompassing light, like nothing they had witnessed previously. Not even close. The brightest, purest light they’d ever seen, a light that was not just brilliant beyond brilliant but that bequeathed unforgettable peace, joy, and love (especially the latter).
+
+
It strikes us that this Light is not just a visible demonstration of God—but His Holy Spirit.
+
In all these episodes, what they are describing seems to be Paraclete Himself (in cases discerned as good)—the Light of love and the Light of life itself. (More subtly, there are rainbows—like one that appeared this week over the Pope’s hospital).

As stated, light, or at least luminosity, is common at legitimate sites of apparition.

We recently carried a “mailbag” item [see here] and video at bottom] about a peculiar sight on Apparition Hill at Medjugorje in Hercegovina.
+
Some thought it was a reflection of some sort. Most thought it was unusual, including Leo Daly from Sydney, Australia, who said with some earnest:
+
“I’ve been meaning to respond to the recent article. I first went to Medjugorje in August 1999. I was in awe of the amazing feeling of peace. That would make a whole other story. At night I noticed the Krizevac Cross had a slight orange glow. This was years before they started putting the electric lights up there [the holy mountain there].
+
++
“I thought it must have been candles or a bonfire, but on subsequent climbs there was no sign of charred rocks. Also, the brush was in such a state that it would have started a bushfire if anyone had a bonfire. And I realized the Cross was too big to be lit that way by candlelight.
+
“I was standing in the field not far from the Risen Christ statue [which exudes a mysterious fluid]. Some American pilgrims were with me, and I asked them if they could see it. Some could. I burst into tears, and they gave me a huge bunch of Rosaries, one they informed me was made by a special monk.
+
“I raced back to the pensione (opposite St. James Church). No one took much notice of my excitement. Later, when I pointed it out to others, not everyone could see it.
+
“Many miracles have occurred there for me. I have been there 13 times. One other miracle that I’ll mention briefly was when I was standing outside the side door of St. James during Adoration in the rain and yet not getting wet. I was not under any cover. The others around me were also dry.”
+
Similar perhaps to Fatima, during the famous sun miracle, where thousands of pilgrims suddenly found themselves dry despite a violent rainstorm (October 13, 1917)?

We give air to such claimed events here, for your discernment. Subjective experiences? Yes. It isn’t just light. From Voorhees, New Jersey, a viewer named Harry says, “I would like to share with you something very incredibly beautiful that the Lord has done to bring comfort and consolation to our families.
+
“On January 30th, my brother-in-law Charles passed away suddenly from a heart attack at the young age of 57.
+
“This was a tremendous shock to his wife and seven children, who are now adults but still took this news very hard.
+
“From his death until his funeral a week later, all of us were praying very hard for his soul, not knowing if he was in purgatory or in Heaven.
+
“On the day of his funeral, February 6th, my wife and I arrived at the church early—about two hours before the Mass was to begin.
+
“As soon as we entered the church and went to our pew, I saw a vision (to the right of the altar) of the Blessed Mother, Saint Joseph, the Lord Jesus, and a few other saints whom I didn’t recognize. As I was seeing this vision, I had the impression that they were standing there waiting for Charles.
+
“This vision remained for two and a half hours and even during the funeral Mass. After I received Holy Communion, the vision remained, and at this time I saw Charles appear before Jesus, Mary, and the other saints. He then bowed down before them in a very reverent manner. I believe it was then that Charles entered into Heaven.
+
“I have shared this with my wife and others who knew Charles, and especially his wife Eileen. This has brought great comfort and consolation to all of us knowing that Charles is now in Heaven interceding on our behalf.”
